The Prince of Wales, Prince Albert Victor of Wales, Archduke Rudolph of Austria, the Czarewitch, and the King of the Belgians will attend the funeral. National mourning lias been made discretional, but it is being universally observed. The reply from the Emperor Frederick to President Carnot's message of condolence is of a cordial nature. St. Petbrsbuko, March 10. Thp Press writes in an uneasy strain regarding the probable political results which may arise from the death of the Emperor Wilhclm. Sydney, March 12. The German residents in the various colonial capitals intend to hold solemn religious services in connection with the German Emperor's death.
THE LATEST.
March 13. As previously telegraphed the corpsc of the late Emperor was conveyed from the Royal palace to the Cathedral on Sunday night. The procession headed by the Prussian corps of the guards left the palace at midnight in the midst of a blinding snowstorm and was composed of the Royal Princes, the generals of the army, ministers and other notable?. Torchlights were carried by the soldiers and the scene was weird anil imposing. The body of the late Emperor is now lying in state in the Cathedral and is being visited by enormous crowds of people. The funeral takes place on Friday, there will be a most solemn service then in the Cithedral and a state procession will follow the remains to the Royal mausoleum at Oharlottenburg. The Emperor Frederick Itl. takes the oath of allegiance on Saturday. He has issued an address in which ho says it will be his endeavour to rule in the spirit of his father, that it will be one of his first duties to maintain the efficiency of the army and navy, especially the latter, which ho says lias important duties to perform in assisting to maintain the colonies whi -h should be acquired as field for German emigration. The Emperor declares that lie is careless of glory and that it will be his constant aim to secure the comfort and interests of the people. Prince Bismarck is indisposed and has been ordered perfect rest by his medical adviser.
