HAMILTON SALE YARDS.
A special meeting of the Hamilton Borough Council was held nil Thursday night to consider the tender* for the erection of the saleyarJs. There were present: His Worship the Mayor, Crs. Knox, Salmon, Wood, Missen, Jones, Bell and Sondes. Mr T. (i. Sandes, Borough Engineer, was also in attendance. The committed appointed to open the tenders having met in the afternoon reported that six tenders had been received, as follows : — J. Wright., £2!)0 15s ; J.mes and Frear, £337 Ss -VI ; Clark and Salmon, 3s 10d; J. Booth, i'3o(> 3s; T. Henderson, £'373 3s (i.l ; H. Me.tealF, £31)0 13s 2d. The Committee recoinmended that the tender of J. Wright be accepted, and that the deposit of Jonas and I l 'rear be kept in hand till the bond be signed.—O. Jones moved that the recommendations of the committee be adopted.—Seconded by Cr. Kuox. and carried.— The Council then rose.
