IN BANKRUPTCY.
Is he Matthah Asmvsh, of Alexandra, baker. The first general meeting of tho creditors of this bankrupt was held yesterday at the assignee's office. The creditors present were as follows :—Messrs .T. Knox (for tho firm of Knox and Ridler), T. Trewheellar and J. Wendel. The statements and examination of the bankrupt wero read by the assignee, who reported that, so far as lie knew, at present there was little prospect of there being anything in the estate for the benefit of the creditors. The surplus from the properties, hold by secured creditors, could not be reckoned upon. Tlie properties referred to might have cost the estimated sum (£1200). but in his opinion nothing was realisable out of either of the propertied. It was resolved that the assignoe should disclaim the properties s that the bankrupt should retain his furniture, and that the assignee should facilitate the discharge of the bankrupt.
