THE DIBBS-GARRETT AFFAIR.

|By Electric Telegrafh.—Copyright.l Sydney, February 25. It is stated that the Reform Club intend to tako notice of the Dibbs-Garrett scene in the House on Thursday, both being members of the club. Mr Garrett has served a writ on Mr Dibbs for £10,000 for damages for accusing him of drunkenness. The late Atorney-General, Mr B. K. Wise, referring to the late discreditable episoles in the House, in the course of a speech to his constituents, said none who had been in the House during the past week, could leave it without a burning feeling of shame and discouragement, almost amounting-to despair. Obscene language was freely used.

THE LATEST. Mr Diblis refuses to waive the. plea of privilege in connection with his accusation against Mr Garrett-. Minister of Lauds, in the House i.f A-s.;m'ily last week. The, moderate members of the house on both sides propose to hold a meeting with the object of discussing this and other like disgraceful scenes in the House and devising means to restrain disorders which now so frequently occur. The Speaker is blamed for a good deal of the trouble, and is generally condemned as being too weak. Mr Garrett has written to the president of the Rsform Club demanding that an enquiry should be held by the club into Mr Dibb's charge of ungentlemanly conduct against him.
