Tub New Zealand Frozen Meat and Storage Company are receiving daily at theb central works in Auckland the following supplies from Waikato creameries Paterangi forwards 7noolbs ; Hamilton, (toOOlbs; N'*aruawahia, 7o00lbs; Tuakau, 7!)00lbs ; and Pukekohe 20001bs. This quantity is the produce of 2r>oo cows ; but the company are quite willing and capable of taking considerably more than this, and no doubt would, but that the season has been on the whole unfavourable for rich milk cream production, the percentage of butter fat not being always uniform in cream from the various suppliers. Eighteen hundred pounds of butter per day are manufactured at the Company's Works, giving employment to 20 hands, of whom fl are females. Three gallons of milk will produce one pound of butter, which, the price given to the farmer for his milk, i>m:ule at a first cost of 7Ad. The I'reezinfr Company have shipped o3 tons of their shell brand butter to Eogland, from which good results are expected. As long as the farmers continue to take a deep and practi cal interest in this industry, the operations of the company will continue to developc largely, and ere long a valuable export trade in colonial butter will be established as a leading feature m the commerce of this colony.
