SIR GEORGE GREY.

Sir,—From the papers I loam that Sir G Grey somo clay soon is Ruing to give an address to the people of Auckland. When I bring to mind his last speech to the people of Auckland, I say to myself once more are the people of Auckland goiiiß to be bamboozled. In that speech he talked down to the people of Auckland and a great descending it is to talk down, n groat mind would talk up to them. He also talked claptrap and silly self praise of himself and threw out baits and fished for silly and childish approbation from his hearers. In that speech ho said that if they, his hearers could spare him he would go to England and do so and so for the good of the country, and then as he wished and expected they with many voices shouted out, but we cannot spare you. Mr Editor, could there he greater degradation than this silly claptrap and vulgar stumping. He also said that he had brought in his lull but that it was thrown out, and his heart was broken ! Why ar the very time he was saying bo he was chuckling to himself how he was gammoming these poor deluded simpletons who were his hearers. Talleyrand said speech was given to conceal thoughts. Sir G. Grey, since, I remember has acted upon this, for his doings have always been in contradiction to his sayings. His whole nature is despotic and at the same time he is preaching liberty he is in his most despotic mood for it is self power that he then wants.—Yours truly, Hahai'lPl. Harapipi, February 13th, 18SS.
