PRESBYTERIAN PICNIC.

Tin: annual fete to tho children connected with the Hamilton Presbyterian Sundayschool was held on Tuesday last in Capt. Steele's paddock, which, with his usual kindness, he throw open for the purpose. Half-past ten o'clock was the hour appointed for the children to meet at the ths church, when aboi)t 130 turned out. They were without any loss of time comfortably soatad in a liumbjr of vehicles, (kindly provided by the members and friends of tho church), and conveyed to the ground, where ample provision had been ijttulf! for tljeir enjoyment by their teachers and fnenri*, Tils chihjrei) \yero seated under tho grateful shade of tho blue gum trees, and after the tinging of a short hymn, they were regaled with an abundant supply of sandwiches, cakes, buns, etc., washed down with tea, and also cooling drinks, (which had all been provided by their friends). Tho young folks together with tljeir teachers, joined heartily in the various gaiijes (fnfc up for their amusement, ami if olio could' judge by t|iO pleasure;; depicted on the faces of both young ai|d old, it was a most unqualified success. As the shades of evening were approaching, tho limbs; of all being ready for a respite, they were again seated under the trees, and another hymn being sung, a further supply of the good things so amply provided was again dispensed to young'and old. Tho young folks before leaving tho grounds, gave throe hearty cheers for Capt, Steele, and also for their friends wl;o Jiad pfot u;; such a pleasant day's amusemeift for 1 tiien% _ vehicles wero again called into requisition, and all were convoyed back to tho church without the least accident of any sort I having occurred to mar the enjoyment of the day.
