(By Electiuc Telegraph.— Copyuight.) Melbourne, February 11. The first section of the Exhibition annexes, covering four acres, is ready. The quantity of space required for the British exhibitors at the Melbourne Exhibition is 300,000 feet, including that for passages. The third plaintiffin the Windsor accident compensation cases got a verdict for £2500. Negotiations for a reciprocity treaty with Fiji have been suspended, the Imperial aet not applying lo thatcolouy. A serious disturbance occurred in Pentridge Goal over some contraband articles found by the prisoners, who locked themselves in a tannery, and defied the warders. Eventually they were quieted, after a desperate fight. Bloodshed was feared, but the seutries were afraid to use their rifles lest they should hit the warders. The affray is more serious that any that has occurred in the gaol for twentylive years. Adelaide, February 11. Lord Carnarvon expresses his utmost satisfaction with his visit and with the defences of the colouy. He hoped to see a colonial military combination. Sydney, February 12. A man who was attempting to force an entrance into a house at Carawa was shot dead by a son of the occupier of the liousc. The son became alarmed at his mother's screams, and fired point-blank at the burglar.
