Licensing Election.—Nominations for the Licensing Committee were received to-day by Mr G. Pavitt, Returning Officer. The following are the candidates : Wm. Wetherington, nominated by G. Lipsey and R. The election will take place on Monday the 20th inst. The Missing Storekeeper.—Mr T. H. Yate the missing storekeeper of Wairongomai, for whom such diligent search was made during the latter part of last week, has returned. After being two days and two nights in the bush he found his way back to his home, and took refugo in an outhouse at the back of }iis business premises where he was discovered about twelve o'clock on Saturday night. Ho was in a very exhausted condition and is still receiving medical assistance. The Temperature.—'This morning the temperature of the air was for the season, unusally low. Shortly after daybreak the mercury stood at 39'' Fahr. The summer all through has been the coolest that there is any recollection of here.
