LAND SALES.
(by telegraph.—own correspondent.) Aucklan d, Monday.. There was a large attendance of people interested in land at the auction mart of Messrs S. Cochrane and Son this morning, the attraction being the Hurstmere E-tate, which the firm placed under the hummer. Fairly good prices were realised. Lot 9 was purchased by Mr Dirk for £30 per acre ; Lot 10, for £35, by Mr W. Phillips ; Lot 0, £34 10s, Rev. Mr Houclim ; Lot 5, £35 ; Lot 4, £12, Mr Walker; Lot 1(1, £38; Lot 15, £24, Mr Granger; Lot 14, £24, Mr Wakefield ; Lot 13, £28, Mr Walker; Lot 12, £25, Mr Harrow ; Lot 11, £25, Mr Shakespeur ; Lot 25, £0, Mr Connor; Lots 22, 21, and 24, brought £17, £20, and £10 10s respectively. The scoria pit and quarry were withdrawn, several other lots were also sol*!.
