THE CODLIN MOTH.

[BY TKLEUUAI'H.— I'KKSS ASSOCIATION.! Bi.enhkim, Thursday. Mit Dodson, M.H.R., who has :i lartre orchard and hop gardens, has been very successful in devising means for killing the eodlin ninth. In tlio spring lie syringed with Paris gruen, an I saw nothing of the pest till about Christinas, when lie suspects some moths from a neighbouring orchard invaded his. He then tied bags round the trunks and limbs of his trees. These are taken off once a week, the caterpillars killed, and the bags again tied on. Mr Dodson thinks that this simple plan would prove effectual if all orchardists in the satni: neighbourhood were to adopt it. It has tho merit of cheapness at ail events.
