ACCIDENT TO MRS ELLIOTT.
Whilst Mrs D. Elliott, of Hamilton West, was engaged at the kitchen stove 011 Saturday last, her dress caught fire, and as she ran outside, she was soon in a blaze. Mr Barton and Mr E. Dickey, who were iu Mr Monro's smithy saw her aud immediately went to her assistance aud covered her with some empty sacks, fortunately near at hand. Mrs Elliot received some severe burns about_ her arms and hands, but they were not serious.
