THE CAMBRIDGE PREACHER. TO THE EDITOR.

Sin, —Replying to \lr Robert Fitzgerald's letter in your issue of Saturday, I think it only fair to inform Inm that 1 was not present at the meeting, and also that I did not furnish the paragraph that he complains about as beiug untrue. The one that appeared in a former issue I did send, and I am pleased to find that Mr Fitzgerald and I agree on one point of it, for in his letter he states " What I did say was that I did not believe that they were " either amenable to prayer or preaching" as the writer had pronounced them to be." Now if ho had stopped at the word preaching I could say, "Them's my sentiments," but when he noes on to say that the writer pronounced them to be "either amenable to prayer or preaching," I say no Robert ! No M It is utterly untrue, as any who read the paragraph can testify. That there were larrikins at the meeting which I referred is undoubted, as Mr Kitzgerald himself threatened to summon.'; one individual, and his coadjutor bcc.ime so exasperated that he slung a lighted lamp at the same person. It is much to the credit of the Cambridge larrikins that at the meeting last Saturday week, when a lady was present with Mr Fitzgerald, no annoyance was caused by their frolicsomeness. Last Saturday the lady was not present, and the interruption oomnienced again. By kindly inserting the above you will much oblige Tim Cambridge Rkpoiitki!.
