Witness replied, "You must not talk to mo in tfyit way, for you must remember that I am a married woman," and 011 that day he said no more. On Sunday her husband was at home all day. On Monday forenoon defendant was again at home while her husband was at work, and he asked her if she had thought over what he had said tq her with regard to the elopement, Sho exclaimed, "Surely you are not in earnest ? and he replied, "Yes, I am ; I am very muoh in love with you." He then got hold of hor round the waist, "tipped" her under the chin, and kissed her. The defence was a total denial of the kissing, and it was said that all that took place was a little unusual chaff about defendant's forthcoming marriage, The Bench imposed a penalty of 30s, includiug costs.
