KILLED By A HAIRPIN.
Mr Wynne E. Baxtkk, tlio Coroner for East Middlesex, held uu inquest recently on the body of a woman named Rebecca Oeisa, The husband of the deceased deposed that for somo time past she had been of intemperate habits, and that while he was trying to take some drink from her she fell, and when he picked her up ho found that a hairpin had penetrated her ticnk- lie had to jret it out by means of another hairpin. A doctor who was sent for prescribed_ for her, but she died next morning. Thejiiry returned a verdict that the deceased died from syncope supervening on an injury to the spine by a hairpin being driven into the neck, and that such injury was due to accidental causes.
