THE CENTENNIAL.
LUNITKD PRESS ASSOCIATION.]
[Hγ Elkctkic 'Cklegiiaimi— Copykight.] Received Jauuary 20ih, 0.5 D a.m. London', January 19. Tiik Times, commenting ou tho lirst Centemiary of Australia refers to the wonderful progress of the colonies, and states it is difficult to picture what may be the grandeur of the second contennaiy. It considers that complete federation is delayed owing to the sense of prosperity and security experienced by those coloni'-s now holding aloof from federation. Instead of squabling about names for colonies, the Times expresses the opinion that it would be better if they became united. Then their collective future, if applied to the development of the mighty resources of Australia, would be ensured, and place them in a position to discharge tho functions which European countries on a similar scale have always performed.
