Ouit countrymen in New South Wales are determined to celebrate t.he Centennial of their grand colony with the greatest eclat, andtogatheratound them in their festivities, representatives of every estate, in society from all the other colonies. With this aim in view, the proprietors of the Sydney Evening News and Town and _ Country Journal have Issued a general invitation to Australasian Journalists to a Press banquet in the .Sydney Town Hall on 25th January, and telegraphed the followingmessago to Mr Brett of the Auckland Star. "H. Buutt, Star Office, Auckland. "We invito all Australasian journalists to Centennial Press banquet, 25th January, Sydney Town Hall. Please extend invitation to ail New Zealand journalists. Mayor of Sydney presides.—Proprietors Evening News and Town and Country Journal, Sydney.'' Mr Brett therefore desires all journalists in this colony who are disposed to accept the hospitality so kindly proffered to communicate with him as soon as possible, in order that he may send on their names. It is to bo hoped that there will be a goodly representation of the Fourth Estate in Nov/ Zealand, so an to mark the solidarity of this colony with the other divisions of the group.
