At a meeting of the Cabinet t-> day it was decided that in future the ofiioers of tlie Civil Service would bo required to attend between 9 a.in and p.m. The Governmont also decided that owing to the waste of time of officers in interviewing private friends, steps will be taken to prevent persons 011 private business, interviewing .any officer during business hours. In what manner the public are to be kept out of the Government buildings, has not 'bixn arrange'.!, but a circular will probably be issued to the heads of the Department, to the effect mentioned.
