The abi>vo board mot in tbo Town Clerk s office yesterday, at 3 p.m. Present: Messrs T. Wells (chairman) J. Eisher and K. Kirkwood.—Tbo minutes having been continued a letter was read, signed by Messrs 0. Jarrett, D. McKinnon, Mitchell, U. Tveeley and J. Chambers, of Cambridge West, saying the inhabitants of that place had elected them as cemetery trustees, and asking tbo board to pet that portion of the domain grounds known as the cemetery conveyed to them. The Chairman said he had advised them to come as a deputation and talk the matter over, and they had promised to attend, but as they had not arrived they must dispose of the matter. M l ' Fisher said several of the inhabitants had relatives buried there, and they were anxious that the ground should be cleared of furze and be kept in order. The Chairman thought they ought to assjst, but in the present state of the finances it would be utterly impossible to do _so this year. After a protracted discussion it was resolved "That the Board recognise the trustees appointed by the inhabitants of Cambridge West as the tenants from year to year of Lot 5-1 at Cambridge West for a cemetery reserve, and that when funds are available they will assist in improving the property. —The Chairman read a statement of accounts, which showed that the bank overdraft had been reduced to £185 4s 7d, in addition to the liabilities for 18SG having been liquidated, amounting to £30 ISs 9d. This showed a saving of £9-1 5s Id on the past year's transactions, —The Chairman was re-elected fop the ensuing year, the members paying him some very high compliments. Mr Wells briefly replied, and the Board rose.
