Sir J.unus Lorimer, Minister fur Defence, hiii reurtivad informrtion from England that L ird Wolseley is willing to make a visit to the colonies should the authorities of tho War Department aeree to his obtaining the necessary leave of absence. Sydney, January 3. One thousand guests are expected to be present at the Centennial banquet, the preparations for which are on a splendidly extensive scale. All the Governors of the colonies, with the exception of the Governor of Fiji, have accepted the invitation to be present, and favourable replies have been received from nearly all prominent colonials.
