THE POPE'S JUBILEE.
(press association.) Rome, January 1. His Holiness the Pope officiated personally at St. Peter's yesterday on the occasion of his jubilee services, being assisted by '18 Cardinals and 238 Bishops. The congregation numbered 30.000 people. Too Popo delivered his blessing, urbi et orbi (to Rome and tho rest of the world). He wore tho Triple Crown presented to him by the Ivupeior of Germany. His Holiness displayed uxcussivc emotion, fainting twice before mass. The Duke of Norfolk, who conveyed Her M.tjesty the Queen's congratulations, occupied a place of honour during the cerem •nv. Toe whole celebration was a memorable and imposing .spectacle. Svdnkv, January 2. The Papal Jubilee was celebrated here ■ni l in Melbourne by special cathedral services yesleiday.
