[press association]. London, January 2. Akchdishop Walsh, of Dublin, who is at present at Rome, is endeavouring to neutralise the mission of the Duke of Norfolk as far as it concerns Irish affairs. Several pollers state that Mr Gladstone intends to visit Rome for a similar purpose. Mr Parnell has recovered from his recent illness, and will at once resume the active leadership of the Irish National Party. Mr John Morloy is now convalescent, and anticipates being able to accompany the Marquis of Ripon on a visit to Ireland shortly.
