Cemetery Trust.—A meeting of the Te Aroha Cemetory Trustees was held a few days ago at the office of Me F. l'avitt, Chairman of tho Board of Trustees. Present: Messrs Pavitt, Quinlan and Dobsmi. The minute.-: of the previous meeting were confirmed. It was decided that the byelaws (drawn up by the sub-committee previously appointed) for the arrangement of the cemetery, be adopted, and that lifty copies be printed. It was also resolved that Mr Pavitt, junioi', be requested to make a survey of the burial lots already occupied, and show them on the plan oi the ground. The Chairman stated that, in acmrdance with the desire of the B lard, he had communicated with the Chief CouimisMuner of Crown Lands in Auckland, respecting the portion of land that had been used for cemetery purposes, He had represented to him that thu whole of the graves were outside tho boundaries of tho section marked oft' as a cemetery on the Government plan of the. district, and had requested that the land which had been used should bo made over to the trustees and gazetted as forming part of the cemetery reserve. It had been shown however that the enlarged area would be much greater than it is customary to set apart for such purposes, and it was suggested by the Chief Commissioner that in tho event of the new area applied for being granted the Board should relinquish the original roservo of ten acres. This arrangement had been agreed to, and the chairman had received from tho Crown Lands Office a notification that a tracing and description of tho pro posed cemetery reserve at Te Aroha had beon sent to Wellington for the purpose of being gazetted. The area of land now Becured as a cemetery is 10 acres 1 rood, and takes in every piece of ground which has there beoti used for purposes of burial, Serious Accident.—An accident that was nearly being attended with serious consequeneos happened to Mrs G.
