Winnie Grey and several other natives waited on the Board re the extension of Te Mimi road northward, The Board proposed to extend the road to the boundary of the Waitoa district, and leave its further extension to the natives. J rhis proposal however, did not meet their views. They offered to give the land a chain wido for a road and contribute £20 and let the Board do the work. If this otter is not accepted they do not seein disposed to give anything, and they will have nothing to do with making any part of the road, and appear to be quite indifferent as to whether or not anything is done to open up the road. The Board decided to take the necessary steps to open up the road if possible at least as far as the boundary of the district. Accounts amounting to £71 Os 10s wore passed for payment. ''
