New Zealand Shipping CompanyCHRISTCHUCH, Wednesday. At an extraordinary general meeting of the New Zealand Shipping Company today new regulations were adopted. The principal alteration are the transfer to London of the head office. The registered office still remains at Christchurch, and the constitution of two boards of directors in London aud Christchurch. The Loudon Board is to have supreme financial control and management of the administrative and commercial affairs of the company, except in New Zealand, Australia, Tasmania, and the islands of the Pacific. The New Zealand Board is to have the management of the commercial affairs of the company in New Zealand, and is to he represented on the London Board by a director nominated by the Board in New Zealand, and the London Board to have a similar nomination on the Now Zealand Board, WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Criminal Assault. Uriah James Williams, a farm labourer at Tails, was this afternoon committed for trial for a criminal assault on a child of tender years. Electric Lighting. Specifications for the permanent lighting of the city by electric light are now' complete, and copies will be forwarded by the outgoing ’Frisco mail to New York, London and Paris, where tenders for the work will be invited.
