The laity of the Roman Catholic Church in Hamilton opened a fancy bazaar yesterday in the Oddfellows' Hall, opposite Sydney Square, where tinsports were being he'd. The object of the bazaar was to aid the funds required to pay off the liability on the Convent. There was a very good display of goods of alt descriptions, many articles being real works of art. The stalls were presided over by many ladies, each of whom spared no effort to effect sales of their merchandise, and disposing of them by the orthodox rallle, etc. The hall was well attended during the day by a large number of visitors, amongst whom were members of the other denominations. The affair was very successful, and we believe a large sum has been realised.
