School Examinations.—The returns showing the results of the examination <«f of the pupils attending the District school, by Mr K. J. O'Sullivan, on the oth and Uth iust., have just been received, and are as follows:—Standard VII, passed, 1 : failed, 0. Standard VI, passed, 1 ; Jailed, 0. Standard V, passed, 4 ; failed, 0. Standard IV. passed, S ; failed, 2. Standard 111, passed, IS; failed 2. Standard 11, p**sed, l‘»: failed 2. Standard 1, passed, 22 ; failed, J. Total passed 70. total failed 7. The i«rcentage of passes is 48*! l of the full number of children on the roll (there being about 110 pupils) and the percentage of failures U*l. Taking the number presented for examination, it will however be seen that Utj per cent were successful in poking. As nearly one half of the children attending the school are classed as infants, the result of the examination must be regarded as very satisfactory, ami affords proof of the ability displayed by Mr and Mrs Marsden and their assistants.
