PROMENADE CONCERT.

Thu open air concert and garden party last night, in aid of the Hamilton Band, attracted a large number of visitors. The grounds were well lighted with colored lanterns and reflecting lamps, which gave a gay look to the surroundings. A stage was provided for the peformers, and seats were arranged around the lawn for the accommodation of tlie public. The band gave a number of fine musical selections. Mr Templet l , with a number of the Hamilton Choral Society, treated the audience to a variety of beautiful carols. During the interval there was an exhibition of the bayonet exercise by a company of (licked men of the Light Infantry. The Choral Society then rendered the following part songs:—“ Come Dorothy,” “The Lark,” “ You Stole My Love.” Miss Wild sang, “ At the Perry ;” Mrs Jackson sang, “ The Gipsy’s Life,” for which she received immense applause. “Let Me Like a Soldier Fall,” by Mr Meachem. “I Pear no Poe,” by Mr Steele. “ Floating on the Wind,” by Mrs Jackson ; and “The Last Rose of Summer,” by Miss Wild, rendered with great effectiveness by her fine voice. Mr T. G. Sandes contributed a capital comic song, for which ho was loudly encored. We understand there will bo a substantial sum to hand to the band.
