IMPROVED SEED DRILLS.
Two costly seed drills of improved design will shortly ho nt work in Waikato. These drills have hoen specially imported by the Mew Zealand Frozen Meat and Storage Company upon recommendation of Mr Lambe who represents the Company in their Artifiical Manure Department, who has made himself pretty weli known in Waikato, having canvassed the district in this line two or three times during the last few months. Although the drills are of heavier draught than those generally in use in the district, requiring an extra horse, they combine improvements of an exceptional character for even and regular distribution, a most essential qualification when the comparatively small quantities of seed and manure to be applied per acre are considered. Special provision lias been made in the machinery to prevent what is known as the “pasting'’ of the manure, which at times causes endless delay and irregularity of application. It is, we understand, the intention of the company to place one of the drills under the control of Mr Crant, of Waitna, and the other with Mr A. Wallace, of Pnkcriimi. These drills will be placed at the service of the settlers at quite a nominal charge, with, of course, the understanding that the Freezing Company’s manures only are to be used in the machines.
