RAGLAN.
Election of Hospital Representative. —An election of a representative for the Waikato Hospital Board took place here on Wednesday last, and as the Counties Act is not in force in this county the chairmen of the various Highway Boards and their representatives met fur that object in the Court-house, namely, Messrs Barker (Pirnngia), J. K. McDonald (Whangaroa), 8. Dando (Raglan). After hearing the report of Mr J. K. McDonald (who had been proposed as the representative) and liis views upon Hospital matters, which were satisfactory to those present, he was elected to fill that office for the year. Stuonc! Gale.— A strong south-west gale was blowing yesterday. The sea was very rough outside the harbour, and much more sc than usual within it. It was bitterly cold while the wind was blowing.
