WAIRANGI.
County' Kt.Kcrnoxs —Mr Hubbard, one of the gentlemen seeking election as County Councillor for the Kangiriri riding, met the ratepayers in the sehoolliouse at Wairangi on the I.oth inst. Ho explained his views of thu requirements of the riding in a. straightforward manner, and stated that he had no selfish motive in coming forward to seek election as councillor, but that lie would do the work without fear or favour. To judge from the manner he was listened to, and repeatedly applauded, he made an impression cm his hearers. He seems to havc the advantage of keeping his temper, as ho has abundance of humour, and has the power of keeping liis audience in good spirits. Several questions were asked, and answered in a satisfactory manner. Mr Bruce proposed, and Mr (loss seconded a vote of thanks to the speaker. The usual vote to the chairman brought the meeting to a close.
