CAMBRIDGE.

Mr Mcßhrnev. —In speaking of the performances in Australia of Mr Mcßurney, who is about to give entertainments at Hamilton and Cambridge on behalf of the Presbyterian Church, the Colerain Albion says:—“ The performer showed his versatility by the rendering of Butch and Irish songs as well as Scotch, and placed himself on rapport with his audience by a running fund cit anecdote between each number. One of the best items was a capital reading of 1 The Gowk’s Errant,’ which was justly applauded. Mrs Mcßnrney’s singing and playing on the zither was also highly eulogised, and received several persistent encores.” Baitlst Tabernacle.— To-morrow, at the Baptist Tabernacle, Cambridge, Pastor Spurgeon will preach the sermons of the sixth anniversary of the Church. The annual soiree to be held in the Public Hall on the following Tuesday promises to bo a success. The evening meeting will be of an exceptionally attractive character. Sacred solos and duets, also selections of instrumental music, will be rendered by Mesdames Chambers, Garland, Horne, Eergusson and Hedgecock, Misses Wilson, Trewheellor and Nixon ; also by the Rev. J. Bellow, and Messrs Hartley, Garland and Chambers, interspersed with topical addresses by the Revs. Spurgeon, Bellow, Law, and other local ministers.
