MEETING OF CREDITORS.
The first meeting of the creditors of Ralph Grade, ot Hamilton, Imilder, was held in the office of the Deputy Assignee on Thursday. Mr McGregor Hay was present on behalf of the bankrupt, and Mr O'Neill for the creditors. There were eight creditors present. The Auckland Timber Company wrote to the Deputy Assignee, requesting that there be a searching examination. Under examination, Mr Grade ascribed his difficulties to losses on contracts and sickness, and consequently falling in arrears. He had always paid when he had the money. Several creditors affirmed that they had been deceived by the bankrupt, who had told them ho was to receive considerable balances on certain contracts. It was resolved, that it is desirable a public examination of the bankrupt be held, under sub-section B, clause XU of the Act. The liabilities are set down at £lO7 IS-q and assets 4112 17s. The following are the principal creditors Messrs Geo. Millar, £4O; J. Knox, £l4 ; Deyand French, fib; Waikato C. and S. N'. Company, £lO ; C. G. Hill, £4 10s ; Auckland Timber Company, f24; Le Qacsne, f 10; Coulthard and Graham, £4 ; Trewheelhir, tb ; K. K. M. Campbell, fit; W. Taylor, fl; W. Hammond, fb; N. R. Cox, f5 ; Hatrick, fb : Horne, £4 ; Harwood, fib; Maunder, £2 and a few others of trilling amounts.
