A special meeting of the Hamilton Domain Board was held at the Borough Council Chambers on Tuesday evening. Present; His Worship the Mayor and Messrs Knox, Hatrick Jones and Missen. The business was to consider tho opening of the drain through lots 8, 9 and 10 instead of through Mr Jolly’s property. The engineer reported on the advisability of the directum of the drain being taken by Mr Northcroft’a late residence or through Mr Jolly’s land as at present, and gave an estimate of both plans, about £C2 each, the former being in excess of the latter in the cost of about one hundred pipes. After a discussion it was resolved that the engineer bo instructed to make out specifications, and that tho Board call for tenders which will be considered at a meeting to be held on Monday next.
