CLASS AGAINST CLASS.
TO THE EIIITOII. Sill, — In common with many others who have mentioned this subject to-day, I cannot but express my disgust at the bad taste of Mr (1. W. Russell last night, in appealing to, and inviting the passions of a section of the meeting by a sentimental reference to the Scotch and Irish evictions of a recent date. A man who will descend to this is unworthy of respect, js unfit to boa representative of the people in a colony, whose people it is to be Imped will leave the heart burnings of another state of society behind them. Such firebrands are a curse to any community, and as the meeting very properly did by crying out “ I.ot these matters alone,” the people themselves should put their foot upon so shameful a dodge to obtain sympathy and support.—Vours, A Cklt.
