MR MAXWELL AND THE HAMILTON VOTE.

TO TUB EDITOR, Sir, —l find that certain electors (Xus. 1 <538 and 1309, I believe), have written up to Waiteti, stating that half Hamilton, or nearly two-thirds, were in favour of Mr Maxwell. This, of course, is done to win support up there, but, as I consider it absolutely untrue, I will be prepared to give a sum of £1 to the hospital, if they will poll half the votes in Hamilton, on condition that they give £1 to the same institution if they do not poll more than one-third of said votes. My name and address are at their service always, provided they mean business and come along with the necessary.—l am, sir, yours, &c., Truth. Hamilton, 23rd September, 1887.
