[copy,] We, the undersigned, were at Mr Whyte’s meeting at Waihou, and do hereby certify that the vote of confidence was not carried, the majority voting for the amendment Patrick Mnrphy, Robert Swayne, A. Will yon kindly allow me also to state that the Editor of the Te Arolia News in vites correspondence by advertisement, the writers to state their names, not for publication, but as a guarantee of good faith. That I did sign mine is evident from the fact that he was able to communicate with me on the matter. It is also evident that being a violest partisan of Mr Whyte’s, he intended, by his refusal to publish my c u rection, unless also allowed to publish my name, to prevent the truth of the matter being made public, thinking that I was cowardly enough to sacrifice the truth for fear of losing my bread and butter.—l am, yours respectfully, Chaki.ks Citiitn and still Faiii Play.
