CONCERT AT PATERANGI.
A cosckbt was held in the schoolroom hero on Friday, September 2nd, which, owing to the boisterous weather, was only fairly successful. The chair was occupied by Mr Hermann, and the following programme was gone through I’iano duct, “Canary bird quadrilles,” Mr and Mrs Long ; song, " The old brigade,” Mr Rigg ; trio, " Cmnc where my love lies dreaming,” Mesdames (Iresham, and Long, and Mr Long ; comic song, “ Willikins and bis Dinah,” Mr Long; song, Airs (Ircshain, “Only;” reading, “The babies,” Mr Gresham; piano solo, Miss Bella Scott-; song, ‘‘Early flowers," Airs Andrew, which received a warm encore, and in response'“ Danube river ” was given ; song, “The bugler,” Air (!. Hunter, which was also encored, and “Charge of -the Light Brigade ” given; piano solo, Mr Long ; trio, “ Ye shepherds, tell me; ’’song, “ Kttie’s. sunshine,” Mrs Andrew; song, “True to death,” Air limiter: song, “ Dorothy,” Mrs Gresham ; ■song, “Tom Tough,” Air Gresham; song; “The old flag,” Mr Rigg; piano solo, Aliss Sadd. Mr Batterssn of Kihikihi accompanied Air Rigg’s songs, and Airs Long and Miss Sadd did that duly for the other singers. A vote of thanks to the ladies and gentlemen who kindly assisted .brought the concert to a close, after which dancing was engaged in, and kept up with great ‘spirit; until after three o'clock.
