INSECTICIDES.
These are the directions of the United States Bureau of Entomology;— London Purple.—J to ifb to 201b of flour well mixed, applied by a sifter or blower. For spraying 20 gallons of water to same.
Paris Green. About one - third stronger. Bisulphide of Carbon is poured on the roots. Carbolic Acid, diluted with 100 parts of water, is applied to animals or their sheds ; also on the surface of plants. Hellebore is sifted on pare or mixed with 20 parts of flour, or for spraying, Jib to the gallon of water.
Pyretiirum or Persian Insect Powder is sifted on dry, also in water, one gallon to one tablospoonful. Tobacco decoction as strong as possible. Kerosene-Mii.k Emulsion.— To oue quart of milk add two of kerosene and dilute with water as much as you like.
Soap Emulsion, Dissolve lib of whalo oil soap in a gallon of hot water. Mix similarly.
