FEARFUL ACCIDENT.

A telegram from Rockhampton reports that a fearfnl accident occurred on August 13, on the Gladstonc-road, at a place seventeen miles from the town. The wife of a selector named Mann was with a child, aged six years, driving to town in a springcart. Going up an incline the horse, becoming exhausted, backed the vehicle and precipitated it over a bank a considerable depth with the woman and child. The horse was seriously injured. The woman and child were killed, and their bodies lay there hours before they were noticed. An examination showed no marks of violence on either of the bodies, but it was evident that severe internal injuries had been received. The bodies were brought here and buried to-day. Mr. Mann is nearly frantic.
