LATEST PAEROA NEWS.
[BY TELEGRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT.! Paeroa, Wednesday. At the police court, Paeroa, on Wednesday, John Vuglar was fined 20s and costs for slaughtering cattle without a license. A large number of cases were decided in the R.M. Court to day, many being iu connection with the failure of Messrs Heath and Irwin, the contractors for the HikutaiaPaeroa section of the Thames-Waikato railway.
Much interest is being taken in the quartz recently unearthed at Hikutaia, it is stated to be remarkably rich. The find is some ten miles from the county road, and is easily accessible. In a case before the R.M. to-day, the Ohinemnri County Council was non-suited for having sued in the name of their clerk, and also for failing to define the term for which a rate was demanded, and the time at which the rate commenced and ended.
