A SEQUEL TO A WEDDING.
The following good story is told bribe Timpeka Times ; —A Cliim se wedding was celebrated in one of the upconntrv distriefs a few days ago. The bride was a young lady of prepo—essiug appearance, known by ih- eunhoui- ns sobri'ju-t of ‘'Cunnemari Kate,” and tin; groom was a tine athletic-looking Chinaman, a wellknown goldfi-Ms trader, with plenty of money .and good address. At the finish of the marriage ceremony Kate <■ trn-meiua-ii her «y- dded life hy getting on the spree, and after ‘ raising the w;ni ’ from her lord and master, ordered him otf home to piepate ibe dinner and clean up Ino house. About s-v- a in the evening she returned home with a few “ country cousins'’ whom she had invited to participate in the nuptial least, which -loim had been ordered home to prepare. The party proceeded to take possession of the good man's castle in regular style. When the table was laid, and John had duly installed himself at the head with as good grace as lie could summon under the circumstances, he was told that the company could dispense with his presence, a view with which he i caddy complied and retired accordingly. There was some nice plum-pudding, a stuffed turkey, ami the wines were of the very best vintage, and the company fell to with a will. Dcs-seit had hardly been disposed of when a si|i:eamisli!ies<.
