ALLEGED MURDER.

As the result of further enquiries, the following additional particulars have been cleaned concerning tile alleg-d murder of tile young woman. Hannah Keans, aged lli, who it is said was fatally stabbed on Thursday, the IG'.h •June, by Thom is Wadley, i~, years of age. It appears that a constable of the Dymoek station, named Flatwooil, saw a man with only his trousers, shirt, and shoes on. He was shouting and waving Ids hands, saying, “Oh, Hannah ; oh my heart, oh my soul !"’ The man, in consequence of continuing the disturbance and refusing an explanation, was conveyed to the local station and taken care of. Not many hours afterwards it was reported that a woman had been hurt, and the man was then suspected, and he was examined. A pocket knife in his possession was observed to be covered with blood. It then transpired that a married woman and the deceased were at work barley hoeing in a field belonging to a farmer named Dyer, of Bicker Court. Wadley had only on the 10th been discharged with a pension from H.M. service, and he was known to have visited the woman several times during the day. At six o’clock, with deceased’s permission, he accompanied her on her way home. .Shortly afterwards Mr Dyer saw the couple standing together near a gateway on the highroad, and later in the evening he heard faint screams. Me proceeded in the direction of the place where he last saw the parties, and saw prisoner running away. About 100 yards from the gate be found the deocsed lying upon her back against the bank, with her head forced up into the hedge. The poor woman was bleeding from a gash in her face, and again on her left arm. The front of her corset was hurst open, and blood was running fast. The deceased told him that Wadley had tried to take liberties with her, and had caused her injuries. A conveyance was procured, and the deceased was conveyed to her home. She died upon her arrival.
