MR RUSSELL AT WAIRANGI.
Mu Rrssuu. addressed the electors in the Mchoolhonse, Wairangi, on August 2nd. The school was full, there never being so many in it before. Mr Johnson took the chair, and introduced tho candidate, who, on coming forward, was received with loud applause. I shall not trouble yon with Mr Russell’s speech, as it is well-known to the readers of The Waikato Times. X may say he carried the audience with him all through. He gave a few local hits to our J.P. and councillor, which gave prolonged applause. He also dwelt strongly on railway reform, and the settlers in this part of tho country, having suffered much from railway mismanagement, Mr Russell gained their confidence. Mr Russell’s address lasted fully two hours. There was only a few questions asked, which were answered satisfactorily. Mr Btuco proposed a vote of thanks, and said he bad come to ask many questions, but had got them answered in Mr Russell's speech. Mr Lindsay seconded the vote of thanks. Then Mr Russell proposed a vote of thanks to tho chairman, which brought to a close the best meeting over held in Wairangi.—Correspondent.
