POLICE COURT, HAMILTON.

Monday.— (Before Mr H. W. Northcroft,

R.M.) W. T. STAINES was charged by Constable Lnwther, with cruely ill-treating a horse, which he had ridden on his way to attend church service. Fined £5 and costs or one month’s imprisonment. He was taken to Auckland yesterday to serve out the sentence.

Police v. Same. —A further charge of larceny as a bailie was preferred against the same individual in having appropriated a quantity of timber snd bricks, valued at £2O, the property of the Auckland Timber Company. Remanded to Auckland.
