CAPTURE OF A GHOST.
The women and children of Rossett, near Chester, have been greatly alarmed by an apparition in white iu the country lanes. Terror also reigned in the neighbouring villages when the tales of the ghost’s moonlight promenades had become noised abroad. A local bicyclist was returning homo when tho apparition suddenly appeared before him. Without a moment’s hesitation, the rider drew a pistol and fired at it. The bullet, however, failed to bring down the ghost, and the rider went on and told the story in the village. Next night the object solemnly approached a pedestrian returning home ; but his large dog which accompanied him bounded forward and seized the apparition, which yelled lustily with pain. The ghost was released, and was found to be a villager not over fond of work tricked out in white clothes.
