PROPOSED RACECOURSE AT CLAUDELANDS.
A MBETixe is to be held at Hamilton on Tuesday tn take into consideration the advisability of forming a central Waikato Racing Club. A splendid course has been laid nut at Claudelands, which measures over 95 chains in length, and it will be lit to gallop on in the coming spring, when it is proposed to hold a meeting. The property, some 87 acres in extent, has been acquired by a syndicate, and is situated immediately in front of the Hamilton East station. No better site could have been selected, as people from all parts of the district can come and return by train the same day. A very large amount of support has been promised by lovers of sport in the Waikato, and the promoters anticipate a great success in this undertaking. The course has been drained and levelled, and will, in a very short time be ready for training purposes.
