The time of Mr J, B. Whyte’s meeting at Taupiri has been changed from 12.30 to 7.30 p.m., and the meeting at Cambridge Bast has been altered from 7.30 to S p.m. Mr Yaila addressed a meeting of City North electors on Tuesday nightat the Opera House, when he advocated retrenchment by amalgamation of various departments, protection to local industry, and the establishment of his railway scheme. At the close a vote of thanks and confidence was carried with only two dissentients, and the meeting terminated with three cheers for Mr Vaile. —Herald. It is rumoured that a third candidate for Waipa will be found in the person of Mr J. H. Wright, J. 8., of Fukekohe. The people of the northern end of the Waipa electorate are evidently labouring under the delusion that Waipa has been added to Tuakau. Mr Ballance addressed his constituents at Wanganui on Tuesday night. He defended the village settlement scheme, and spoke strongly in favour of protection. He received a vote of thanks and confidence.

.Sir Julius Vogel teceived a vote of tlianks and confidence at Christchurch North, on Tuesday night. Mr Peacock received a vote of confidence at Ponsonby, ou Tuesday evening.

Aiken Connell publishes in the Star to-night a letter from Dr. Haines to reassure his friends with regard to his health, physical and mental. Mr G. S. Graham states that he will stand for Ponsonby if a requisition suffiently encouraging is got up. He expects sosn to become again a resident in Auckland. Christchurch, Wednesday, Mr Richardson received a vote of thanks at Rangiora last night. Paeroa, Wednesday. Mr A. J. Cadman, is canvassing at Karangake. Mr Humphreys, is addressing electors at Waihi to-night. Ho will resign in favor of Mr James Mackay, should that gentleman respond to the flattering requsitiun now being signed.
