The outbreak of cholera in Sicily is rapidly increasing. Forty-two cases, twenty-five of which proved fatal, occurred at Catania, the capital, yesterday. OONST aN T I no nr. K, July 18. Dr Radowitz, the German Ambassador, had a farewell audience of the Sultan today, in the course of which he made strong representations in favour of the ratification of tho Anglo-Turkish Convention relating to Egypt. The Sultan, in reply, stated that the Convention had not been ratified owing te the strong Mussulman opposition to its provisions. Rio Janeiro, July 18. The Shaw-Savill steamer Coptic arrived this morning with her cargo of mutton in good condition. Parts, July 18. Tho directors of the Paris Exposition, to be held in ISSfI, informed Sir Graham Berry, in reply to his representations, that tho French Government favourably entertains the proposals that France should participate officially in the Melbourne Centennial Exhibition to be held next year.
