MR W. A. GRAHAM AND THE ELECTION.
TO THE KIUTOII. Slu, —I am inf'ru ed that lam supposed to be working for Mr Russell against Mr •I. 1!. Whyte. In justice to both gentlemen I deny that it is H I elected to do so 1 should stand myself for 'Waikato. It is true that tlc're are differences of opinion lietwceu us. hut not sufficient to cause a breach in that warm confidence and supput winch has ahva3"s existed between Mr M byte and myself. At most. I have informed Mr Russell that I shall take no active part in the Waikatoeh-etion. 1 look for I’arlianant to meet and the Cnvera-m-’nt. as at present constituted, to be defeated, and then will follow a political deluge, which will wash out old party lines, in order that new ones may be formed under fresh lenders. As regards the Waipa seat, I am stall bumd by party ties ; therefore I shall not stand. The gallant Major having counterin i relied and re-formed bis company, let him quick inarch, show a bdd front, and do or dee. Esau versus Jacob is the cause at issue, as it appears to myself; but parties are too mixed up at present to break off from old and tried fiiends.—Yours ti uly, William A. Ckaha.m. The ledge, Hamilton, July ISth, ISsg.
